Recycling will only succeed on a large scale if citizens are aware of the issues and understand the reasons why they should implement recycling strategies in the home and the workplace.

Cans For Kids spends a lot of time on awareness, visiting schools to give talks about recycling, and hosting visits to the Cans For Kids recycling centre where the realities of recycling are demonstrated. Visitors watch the sorting and baling process and are usually amazed at what is involved!

We encourage young volunteers to join our Saturday sorting sessions, and many have done so as part of school volunteering and community projects. These young citizens of the future gain a valuable insight into sustainable living and are undoubtedly committed to recycling for life!
